Will anybody be around to help you out of bed?
Will they hold you tight despite those awful things you said,
Yesterday…
While you work today,
Will anybody be around to carry you when you’re tired?
Will you fight for what is right despite what got you fired,
Yesterday…
If you laugh today,
Will a good friend be around to maybe share the smile?
Or did you lose him because a favor wasn’t worth your while,
Yesterday…
Or if you cry today
Will anyone be around to help dry up the tears?
Will a friendly hand sooth your heart so it may forget the years,
Of yesterday…
And if you fall today,
Will someone be around to catch you before you hit the ground?
Today is so defined by all those things you found,
Yesterday…
