White Chalk October 8, 2009. © Talon Truitt Cherry, All rights reserved Drivin down my block the side walk is packed with empty blue eyes the dried chalk, that white chalk, under every tall building it lies I can't talk my jaws locked the devil is here in disguise I'm hearin tic toc the clock stopped to watch a young boy as he cry's Make it go away I don't wanna stay here there's nothin else to say here make it go away mother I'm afraid I don't wanna play here I just wanna lay here and make it go away while he walks home the cold stone burns his bare feet every stride At a slow roam he's all alone no one would care if he died Passin by the drug home a harsh tone rings from a mans forty five under grown and bare boned he dropped to one knee and he cried Make it go away I don't wanna stay here there's nothin else to say here make it go away mother I'm afraid I don't wanna play here I just wanna lay here and make it go away The boy falls down with no sound as dead as the look in all eyes the cold ground is red now but no one looks down to realize he is never found just drawn around with chalk where he lies every night the same sound the whole town lays down to sleep and it cries Make it go away I don't wanna stay here there's nothin else to say here make it go away mother I'm afraid I don't wanna play here I just wanna lay here and make it go away
