Where I've Been

It was said to me today that my life might mean nothing
A Christian man explained it word for word
In the wake of Gods creations, and all that he has done
This life wouldn’t be much more than over looked
I sat and thought about those words in darkness
Without the light reality looked real dim
I prayed to God I know that I’m not flawless
And am no more than a molecule to him
I said God I know you see I’m pretty troubled
That Christian man helped me to see a new light
But if my life is pointless, and what I do is all in vein
How do you expect my spirit to stand and fight
God, It was said to me today my life might mean nothing
A Christian man explained it word for word
In the wake of your creations God, and all that you have done
This life can't be much more than over looked
He said son I see in your eyes your disappointed
This pedestal is far beyond your grasp
The plans I have for mankind stretch far beyond those eyes
And the life I made for you ain't meant to last
The tattoos on your arms might help explain it
When your soul is gone the ink gets left behind
But your spirits marked with all the things on earth you’ve come to learn
So the importance of this life is yours to find
Your spirit like your mind will become cluttered
Some things get forgotten but some stay there
What mattered to you yesterday might change in the end
But its you who decides of what you care
I said God I think I know just what your sayin
You have a way of making things so clear
This life is just a holiday compared to what’s to come
Like a memory I’ll always hold it dear
He said that’s the point my son id say you got it
I said I thank you lord and then said Amen
Now I know that if it matters now it matters in the end
When my bodies gone my spirit is my skin
So I tattoo one more lesson on my spirit
“Talon was your name forget that never
If it mattered once today then it matters in the end
And this life that you lead matters forever”
