The light left shined only upon what I could not touch, at night. That dark night, I walked alone under the canopy of goodbye, The sky rained ash, and stone. Rivers ran as black as black powder, the air grew heavy with the scent of burnt rain, as crickets chirped to the sound of trumpets, playing taps to an empty sea. That night, Before the sun fell completely asleep, I sat on the front porch day dreaming, at night. That night, that dark night, the light left couldn't pierce the feelings, the dark feelings, that covered the light that night. In the post thought of my thoughts, behind the dreams, and over the conscious mind, I walked along the edges of an ocean-less sand, sinking swiftly, below everything that freaks me out. That night, Children flew backwards in the sky over mountains of empty brass shells, all men created equal stood stiff in formation, arms in salute, and sank to the sound of twelve rounds. Nobody walked away...
