Hero's in the Eyes of Fathers Son August 1, 2009. © Talon Truitt Cherry, All rights reserved I’ve been told so many times before, but I didn’t believe till now. Its always the calmest before the storm, and the worlds always equaling out. When I had the time to spend with my friends I didn’t because time never stopped. Always another day to play games again, that was until the first brother dropped. There is a light house in the harbor, of my mind, kept way in the back. All the memories that it shines upon, once lost, are now coming back. All the angels that I left behind, and acquaintances that I have made are nice to have around sometimes, but can't compare to those that have stayed. As the sun sets in the western sky my tired soul shines on and on. The light house burns in sacrifice of what might soon be gone. And when finally I burn out my light this war torn ship will set its sails. To join its brothers up in the sky cause a good soul never fails. Blood stained war is no new stranger to the untouched land. Plan on leaving no survivors when the last one is at hand. Liberty is born in ashes of a city reduced to abstract sand. And in the eyes of the angels she’ll bring peace to man. They say nice guys finish last, and the good die young. Combating cliché phrases to sooth the soul till the fight is done. Confused and bruised survivors live to tell of wars they’ve won. Good and bad both dead and gone live on after the gun as hero’s in the eyes of fathers son.
