Here July 29, 2009. © Talon Truitt Cherry, All rights reserved Here the word alone is only a word nothing more, but maybe less. For I can give no feeling to it, nor can a feel no feeling from it. Alone here is as empty as it once felt, as empty as what space once seamed, But now space seams full in comparison. Full of stars, full of planets, full of unknown anomalies. Alone is my new space and space is here in this place home. I am not alone here, I am not afraid here. I do feel here. Here in this place once called space I see earth. Earth, and all that is attached, and I can hold it, and I can save it. Here alone is what does not exist, and space is what cannot be explained. Like the feeling of home or the feelings assigned to the word home. No longer a vast emptiness, but an endless fold of time Creating itself before my eyes. Like taffy in a taffy puller on the board walk of San Francisco. And here I am no longer a spec of dust in an unexplained universe. Here I am no longer as meaningless as space once was, and as alone now is. Here I have a feeling assigned to my word, “I” am assigned feeling There is no feeling for the word alone here, not for me. Here alone is alone as alone once was. Space is home as home once was, and home is no longer a necessity Nor is it an unreachable goal lost after childhood. Here home surrounds me like space once surrounded earth. The earth I once called home. My home surrounds the feeling of home and here “I” am home. Not the word, the feeling. Here I am home, alone is alone, earth is a trinket I can keep in my pocket and space is earth surrounded by me “Me” assigned to “I” who is home. I am home here. Here is love.
