All Grown Up July 29, 2009. © Talon Truitt Cherry, All rights reserved When the child leaves, and the man takes over No more faith in four leaf clovers You lose the joy in becoming older And childhood playmates become soldiers The clouds no longer make a sound Your best friends not always around You lose sight of treasures that you found And get a little more tired of your town The mountains don’t seam tall no more The floor is further from the door Rough housing just makes you sore And you only like foods you loved before Windows no longer tell the future And there’s a defined answer for every loser You have no time you either find or lose your Faith in god and beggars can't be choosers Snows not white it's a dirty grey Its always way too cold to play Your happier when it melts away And you give in to the things that “they” say Stained with time your tears aren’t see through Remembering once you wanted to be you Nothing you own is ever brand new You want to be young again yeah well me too Now your all grown up with lots of time Only to wish you could rewind How could it ever seem so sublime To the innocent eye this life was fine Look now.
